A project-based summer internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory focused on using automation to solve Laboratory problems, running late May through early August with flexibility for quarter-system students. Twelve students work in teams of three to build prototypes integrating robotics, LabVIEW, PLCs and mechanical and electrical design, with technical training in robotic motion planning, PLC programming and advanced electrical concepts alongside professional development. Students also visit facilities including the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center and the Dual-Axis Radiographic Hydrodynamic Test facility. Open to graduate or undergraduate students graduating within one year of the programme; acceptances are sent in early February.
