About This Program

An eight-week scientific immersion in glacier science, run on the Juneau Icefield in Alaska and continuously since 1946. Students traverse the icefield while taking undergraduate or graduate coursework and carrying out field research in glaciology, geophysics, geology, ecology and atmospheric science. Applications for a given field season open in the preceding fall/winter; an interest form is open year-round.
