International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)
An annual international prize recognising outstanding PhD theses in the chemical sciences, sponsored by Solvay and administered by IUPAC. It is open to early-career scientists worldwide whose doctoral work represents an exceptional contribution to chemistry, and nominations are called for in the winter preceding each year's award. IUPAC's wider award slate also includes the Poster Prize for outstanding undergraduate poster presentations at IUPAC Congresses and division-sponsored conferences, the CHEMRAWN VII Prize for Green Chemistry for investigators from developing countries, the Emerging Innovator Award in Analytical Chemistry, and the Balarew Award for young scientists in solubility and chemical equilibria.
