A grant administered through the Idaho Workforce Development Council covering 80 percent of tuition and fees up to a maximum of $8,000 for Idaho high school graduates training for a career on the Council's annually approved in-demand list, which is weighted toward healthcare, information technology, engineering technology, advanced manufacturing and the skilled trades. First-year students may draw up to $4,000, while programmes shorter than twelve months may use the full amount in a single year. Applicants must graduate from the current Idaho high school graduating class (public, charter, private, homeschool or GED), must be under 21 by 15 April, must be Idaho residents, must enrol at an approved Idaho institution by the fall semester after graduation, and must complete a Career Pathway Plan by 31 May. Roughly $75 million in funding supports approximately 9,000 to 10,000 awards annually; funds are limited, so the 30 November priority deadline matters.
