Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)
Supports PhD students from underrepresented backgrounds — including women — in the life sciences with up to 3 years of stipend support and professional development. Students apply jointly with their faculty advisor. The program explicitly builds an inclusive academic community by developing both the student and mentor.
