Hamad Bin Khalifa University
Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the research university within Qatar Foundation in Doha, publishes standardized tuition waiver and stipend rates for its graduate students rather than running a separate scholarship competition - students are considered during admission. STEM PhD programs in the College of Science and Engineering and the College of Health and Life Sciences carry a 100 per cent tuition waiver; STEM master's programs in those colleges carry 75 per cent. Stipends run for 45 months at the doctoral level and 21 months at master's level, at QAR 11,000 per month for Qatari PhD students, QAR 9,000 for international PhD students and QAR 5,000 for local PhD students, and QAR 9,000 / 7,000 / 4,000 per month respectively for master's students. Stipends go to full-time students serving as research or teaching assistants, subject to funds; recipients work 10 hours a week as an RA with their primary supervisor and may work at most 20 hours a week in total. Full-time working professionals are not eligible. Undergraduate financial support is handled separately by Qatar Foundation.
