A cluster of awards and travel stipends for Gerontological Society of America student and early-career members attending the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting. Society-wide awards run through the Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization include an Interdisciplinary Paper Award, five Poster Awards, the Douglas Holmes Emerging Scholar Paper Award for long-term care research, and a Minority Issues in Gerontology Poster Award. The Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education adds a Student Leadership Award and a Graduate Student Paper Award, plus the James McKenney Student Travel Award, which carries complimentary registration and a year of GSA membership. Aging research is a genuinely interdisciplinary STEM field spanning biology, public health, biostatistics and health technology.
