The Korean government's flagship inbound scholarship, run by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) under the Ministry of Education. Separate tracks cover undergraduate degrees (GKS-U) and graduate degrees (GKS-G), with the graduate track alone aiming to bring roughly 2,000 students a year to Korean universities. Awards cover full tuition, a monthly living allowance, airfare, health insurance and a year of Korean language training before degree study begins. Applications are made either through a Korean embassy or directly to a designated university, and are submitted via the official Study in Korea portal; the graduate round has historically closed in late February.
