U.S. Geological Survey / GIS Certification Institute
A program established in 2017 in which the GIS Certification Institute identifies candidates for USGS GIS intern positions anywhere in the U.S., with USGS making the internship decisions. Eligible candidates are U.S. citizens who are recent graduates or enrolled at least half-time, register on the GISCI site with a started GISP portfolio application, and notify GISCI by email. Qualifying names are forwarded to USGS in October for the following summer.
