About This Program

One of the largest routes into a funded STEM graduate degree in the United States. GEM runs three tracks: an MS Engineering Fellowship, a PhD Engineering Fellowship and a PhD Science Fellowship. Fellows receive a stipend plus full tuition and fees at a GEM member university, and at least one paid summer internship with a GEM employer member, which is the feature that distinguishes GEM from a conventional fellowship. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents, majoring in a STEM field, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; the application cycle usually runs from 1 July to mid-November each year.
