About This Program

An interdisciplinary design and engineering competition in which undergraduate and graduate university teams design and build formula-style hybrid or all-electric racecars, with an emphasis on drivetrain innovation and energy efficiency in a high-performance application. Founded and run since 2006 by the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, it forms part of the SAE Collegiate Design Series and is regarded as the most technically demanding event in that series. The competition is held each spring at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.
