A need-based scholarship for the spouses and dependents of US service members and first responders who were killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty. The award pays unmet need — the share of tuition, fees, on-campus dormitory housing and required textbooks not already covered by other aid — up to $2,500 per term for full-time students and $1,250 per term for part-time students. Awards are announced in mid to late July. The scholarship is degree-agnostic and is routinely used for engineering, computing, nursing and other STEM programmes at both four-year universities and technical colleges.
