Engineers Without Borders USA runs volunteer-delivered infrastructure projects in partnership with communities, and its student chapters are one of the most common routes for engineering undergraduates to get field project experience before graduating. Project work spans water sourcing and distribution, civil works including roads, drainage and erosion control, sanitation and waste, agricultural improvements such as irrigation and harvest processing, renewable energy installation, and structures including bridges, clinics and schools, so civil, environmental, agricultural, mechanical and electrical disciplines all have a place. Students join by finding a local chapter and completing volunteer registration through the organisation's Volunteer Village portal.
