Defence Science and Technology Group
A limited number of paid internships at Australia's Defence Science and Technology Group, run over the university summer vacation period. Placements last 12 weeks and set students to work on larger DSTG projects, giving them real-world defence science problems under the supervision and mentorship of Australia's top applied researchers. The program engages students enrolled in STEM degrees at any Australian university, and the placements may be counted toward university work-integrated-learning requirements of up to 450 hours at most Australian institutions. DSTG staff provide additional support so academic requirements can be met. The program carries explicit targets for boosting participation by women and other under-represented groups. Projects may be offered at any DSTG site, though most are at DSTG Edinburgh in South Australia and Fishermans Bend in Victoria.
