The Philippine Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute runs two national undergraduate STEM scholarship tracks: the RA 7687 programme (Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994) for students from economically disadvantaged families, and the Merit Scholarship Program for students with high aptitude in science and mathematics. Both fund priority degree programmes in the basic sciences, engineering, applied sciences, computing, cybersecurity, data science and science/mathematics education, and provide a monthly stipend, tuition subsidy and book allowance. Open to natural-born Filipino citizens who have not previously held a DOST scholarship.
