About This Program

A fully funded graduate fellowship supporting PhD students whose research addresses challenges in stewardship science, including high-energy-density physics, nuclear science, and materials under extreme conditions. Fellows receive $36,000 per year plus full tuition and a required 12-week practicum at a national security laboratory. The program is administered by the Krell Institute on behalf of DOE's National Nuclear Security Administration.
