A two-month research placement in Italy for US students, financed jointly by the US Department of Energy and Italy's National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). Fields cover particle, astroparticle, nuclear, theoretical and detector physics; recent Padova placements include the LUNA nuclear astrophysics experiment, Muon Collider beam cooling and Virgo gravitational-wave noise mitigation. Applicants must be enrolled at a US university and have begun at least the third year of a physics, engineering or computing curriculum.
