The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, South Africa's central science and technology research organisation, runs a student and graduate pipeline made up of internships, its own bursary scheme, and the DSI Inter-Programme Bursary Scheme funded through the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation. The programmes support students in science, engineering and technology, are framed around building South Africa's national pool of scientists, engineers and technologists, and place bursars alongside CSIR research groups. Individual streams carry their own eligibility rules and application windows, published on the CSIR students-and-graduates pages.
