Croucher Foundation
The Croucher Foundation's doctoral award enables recipients to devote themselves to full-time study or research in the natural sciences, medicine or technology at approved academic institutions outside Hong Kong, leading to a PhD. Eligibility is restricted to permanent Hong Kong residents, and applicants must have obtained First Class Honours in their first degree. Croucher scholars have taken up places at institutions including Harvard, MIT, Oxford, Cambridge, Caltech, Berkeley, UCSF, Northwestern and British Columbia. The Foundation's stated goal is to identify and support talented Hong Kong students and early-career researchers who will develop independent and critical abilities and form enduring collaborative partnerships. Awards are competitive and offered annually.
