Argentina's principal doctoral fellowship, awarded by the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Cientificas y Tecnicas (CONICET). The internal doctoral fellowship runs 60 months and is open to graduates, and to students with no more than five outstanding undergraduate courses provided the degree is completed before the fellowship begins; a separate 24-month doctorate-completion fellowship supports researchers finishing a thesis without current CONICET support. The 2026 call provided for 1,000 internal doctoral fellowships and 300 completion fellowships, with awards starting 1 April 2027. Seventy per cent of places in each advisory commission are reserved for projects aligned with designated priority themes or geographic regions, with the remaining 30 per cent allocated on merit order within each scientific discipline. Co-financed variants with partner institutions and private companies use the same structure.
