The College of Optometrists
The College of Optometrists funds undergraduate research scholarships of £2,000 toward maintenance for eight weeks of work experience in an active research laboratory, including the Angela Bishop scholarships in paediatric and binocular vision; supervisors apply on the student's behalf and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. It also offers a fully funded College of Optometrists and Boots Opticians PhD Scholarship covering tuition plus maintenance and research costs at a UK university offering an undergraduate optometry degree. PhD applications open October 1, 2026 and close February 19, 2027, and candidates must be College members.
