Coast Guard Foundation Scholarships and Spouse Grants

About This Program

The Coast Guard Foundation funds the dependents and spouses of enlisted members and commissioned officers. Dependent scholarships are worth up to $5,000, are open to unmarried children aged 24 or under who are high school seniors or undergraduates, and may be used at a community college, a four-year university or a trade school, including for professional certification. Eligible students may reapply for up to four years. Spouse Grants of $1,000 support non-military spouses of enlisted members in pay grades E-1 to E-9 taking professional development courses, licensing courses, certificates, certifications, or college and graduate degrees, with priority given to spouses of E-6 and below. A separate Fallen Heroes Scholarship supports the dependent children of members who died in Coast Guard land, air or sea operations.
