An American Welding Society Foundation award for students entering welder training in a certificate programme of less than two years at a trade school, community college or other welder training facility; it cannot be used for associate or bachelor's degree programmes. Up to 800 scholarships of $1,000 are distributed annually, paid directly to the educational institution and usable for tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for the course. Applicants must live within AWS District boundaries. Selections are made on a rolling basis from 15 January and awards are valid for one year from the date awarded.
