AVS (the professional society for surface science, thin films, vacuum, and nanoscience) awards the Dorothy M. and Earl S. Hoffman Scholarships to registered graduate students in the sciences and technologies of interest to the society. Two scholarships are awarded each year following a virtual research-talk interview of finalists.
