Australian Maths Trust
Australia's national olympiad-level mathematics competition, administered by the Australian Maths Trust with selection handled by Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee state directors. Entry is by invitation to roughly 200-250 students in Year 11 or below, of whom about 60 advance to the finals. Following a restructure, the AMO now runs as three separate competitions across the year: AMO Summer and AMO Winter each set six proof-based problems over three hours and are sat at students' own schools, while the AMO Finals run two papers on consecutive days with four questions per day over four hours, sat at AMT-organised exam hubs. In 2026 the rounds fell on 25 February, 29 July and 1-2 September.
