AusIMM
The flagship scholarship program of AusIMM, the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, funded through an Education Endowment Fund created by trust deed on 22 February 1989 and awarded annually by the fund's board of trustees. Roughly 12 scholarships are granted each year across two streams, both open to Australian citizens and permanent residents enrolled at an Australian university. Premium Undergraduate Scholarships provide up to $15,000 a year in cash support, mentorship valued at $5,000, and a fully funded week-long field trip to mineral-rich regions, for students in mining-related programs. Research Scholarships for postgraduates provide up to $25,000 a year for up to three years, capped at $50,000 in total depending on other funding, for research in the resources field. Scholars also gain mentoring, industry networks and places on AusIMM's annual field trip program. Applications for the 2027 cohort ran 27 July to 4 September 2026.
