Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research places undergraduates into its own research institutes for a first substantial spell of lab work. Open to Singaporean undergraduates in their second year or above at local or overseas universities, in computing and information sciences, engineering and technology, physical sciences, or biomedical, life and food sciences, on track for at least Honours (Distinction) or a cumulative GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0. Internships run 16 to 24 weeks during semester or 12 weeks during vacation, subject to the home university's minimum, and carry a monthly allowance of SGD 1,600 to 2,000. Applications are accepted year round with intake windows opening in late June and late November, and may be submitted up to six months before the university's own internship portal opens.
