The certification scheme of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, the credential path for technicians and inspectors who verify the integrity of welds, castings, pipelines, airframes and pressure vessels without damaging them. Candidates work through certification preparation resources, then Level II certification in specific NDT methods, and then Level III, which certifies the ability to establish techniques and procedures and to train and examine other personnel. ASNT presents the levels as cumulative value built across a career, and its certifications are widely written into employer and regulatory requirements in aerospace, energy and heavy manufacturing. Note this is separate from the ASNT Foundation's undergraduate scholarships.
