About This Program

A USD 5,000 American Planning Association Foundation award, one per cycle, for undergraduate or graduate planning students whose work focuses on environmental planning or conservation. Applicants need APA student membership, which is free, and two letters of recommendation. This is the most directly STEM-adjacent of the APA Foundation's four scholarships - environmental planning students usually come from or overlap with environmental science, ecology, hydrology and civil engineering coursework, and often fall between the funding categories of both disciplines. Applications run on the Foundation's annual cycle with a mid-May close for the main scholarship round.
