Chile's flagship national doctoral scholarship, awarded annually by the Agencia Nacional de Investigacion y Desarrollo (ANID) through its Capital Humano subdirectorate. It supports doctoral study in all areas of knowledge, in programmes accredited under Chilean Law 20.129 and taught by Chilean universities, for a maximum of four years from the start of the programme. The competition runs on an academic-year cycle, with each call published on ANID's concursos pages; the 2026 academic-year call awarded 65 new scholarships. ANID also runs a separate Becas Chile stream for doctoral study abroad and an ANID-DAAD co-funded doctoral route.
