The student programme portfolio of Ames National Laboratory, the DOE Office of Science laboratory co-located with Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and known for materials science, rare-earth and critical-materials research. Alongside the DOE-wide Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) and Community College Internships (CCI) that Ames hosts, the laboratory runs two programmes of its own: the Ames National Laboratory Pathways Summer School, a five-week data science and artificial intelligence workshop aimed at early-stage undergraduates, and the SCIENCES Experience, paid research and operations positions open to Iowa State undergraduates. Graduate students can apply through the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) programme, and all undergraduate interns take part in the laboratory's Launch Experience.
