A pair of collegiate solar car events organised by the Innovators Educational Foundation. The Formula Sun Grand Prix is a track race that also serves as the scrutineering and qualifying event, where teams must complete a set distance to earn a place in the cross-country road race. The American Solar Challenge then sends qualifying cars over a multi-day route on public roads. Teams compete in single-occupant and multi-occupant vehicle classes and come from universities in the United States and abroad. The 2026 events drew a record field of registered teams, running in Minnesota in July before the road race finished in August.
