A scholarship from the Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation for students pursuing two-year degrees or certificates at accredited trade schools and community colleges who are preparing for careers in the iron and steel industry. Up to ten one-year awards of US$2,600 are granted annually, each paired with a required paid FAME USA-affiliated internship, apprenticeship or work-based learning placement at a US steel-producing company or steel supplier. Placements must be directly related to steel manufacturing or steel industry operations, awardees must be willing to relocate or commute for the assigned placement, and a satisfactory employer performance evaluation is required to keep the funding. It sits alongside the Foundation's better-known Steel Intern Scholarships but is aimed squarely at the trade and technical pathway rather than four-year engineering degrees.
