Agriculture Future of America runs a national scholarship programme for students entering the food, agriculture and natural resources industries, a sector that spans plant science, animal science, agricultural engineering, food science and agribusiness. Awards range from $1,600 to $3,200 and every scholarship includes admission to the AFA Leaders Conference, held in Kansas City, with travel excluded. Graduating high-school seniors and current undergraduates enrolled in an agriculture or food-related degree programme at a four-year US institution are eligible; applicants must be aged 17 to 25 during the Leaders Conference and a minimum 2.5 GPA is recommended. Applications for the next cycle are due 4 March 2027, with recipients announced in early June. AFA also runs subject institutes, including a Plant Science Institute and a Policy Institute, which sit alongside the scholarship rather than inside it.
