One of the largest scholarship programmes aimed at deaf and hard of hearing students, run by the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, which awards more than $100,000 annually in individual awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. It is open to US undergraduate and graduate students with pre-lingual bilateral hearing loss in the moderately-severe to profound range who use listening and spoken language as their primary mode of communication. Eligibility requires an unaided pure-tone average of 60dB or greater in the better ear across 500, 1000 and 2000 Hz, diagnosis before age four and a minimum 3.25 GPA. Every application must include documentation of the hearing loss and of listening and spoken language use.
