A free four-week residential summer programme in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, introducing Ethiopian high school students in grades 9 to 11 to Python programming and algorithm design. Days run eight to eight and a half hours, with about two hours of lecture and the rest spent on hands-on coding, covering order of growth, recurrences, induction, memoisation, greedy algorithms, graph algorithms, sorting and numerical algorithms. No prior programming experience is required, and housing, meals, transportation and registration are all fully covered. It is run by AddisCoder, Inc. with Ethiopia's Ministry of Education, and taught by computer science faculty including Prof. Jelani Nelson of UC Berkeley.
